Palo Alto, CA, United States Rubrik is actively seeking an experienced senior‑level tax professional to lead our fast‑paced, high‑performing tax department at our headquarters in Palo Alto. As Head of Tax, you will be a Director‑level professional and a key member of the Chief Accounting Officer’s organization, overseeing global tax strategy, tax planning, tax accounting and tax compliance.

What You Will

Be Doing Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements. Conduct tax research and analysis to identify tax planning opportunities and mitigate risks. Analyze the tax implications of major business decisions, such as mergers, acquisitions and new market entries. Collaborate with internal departments (finance, legal, operations) and external advisors to integrate tax considerations into business decisions.

Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state and international tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage the tax provision process and ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 740). Maintain and enhance internal controls over tax processes. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax efficiency and accuracy.

Manage and develop direct reports and a global team, allocating resources effectively to meet departmental goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

Hybrid work model – required to be in the office at least 3 days per week. BS in Accounting or Masters in Tax; CPA certification required. 15+ years of experience in tax planning, accounting and compliance. Extensive ASC 740 knowledge and SEC reporting for income tax.

Experience

with international tax issues. Understanding of indirect tax concepts and filings. People‑management experience required. Team‑player; able to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment and meet tight deadlines.
