Trial Preparation Assistant The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By "Pursuing Justice with Integrity," the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. The Bronx County District Attorney's Office has an opening for a Trial Preparation Assistant to support our Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) with all aspects of investigations and trial preparation in the Special Victims Division. Draft and serve Orders to Produce, Writs of Habeas Corpus, and Motions. Pick up/drop off status sheets to Court/Obtain Certified Documents. Perform field work, including traveling to other agencies, hospitals, and courts Requesting and retrieving evidence for trial/submit requests for 911/Radio runs (ICAD). Prepare letters and email Orders of Protection to witnesses, defense counsel, and legal staff daily. Provide backup coverage for DVM Court Clerk, including, WEBDV database. Assist with other bureau tasks and perform all other duties as assigned. Community Assistant - 56056 Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English. An Associate's degree or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years working experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization. Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with general court services preferred.
