The Role You will own the end-to-end architecture of the fleet management and asset tracking system. This role is weighted approximately 75% Backend/Security and 25% Frontend . You will: Architect and build secure backend services to handle financial transactions, vehicle telemetry, and user identity. Implement rigorous security standards for IoT data flows, ensuring tamper-proof logging and encryption. Build the necessary web interfaces for fleet administration (React), while ensuring the underlying API surface is robust and scalable. The Essential Requirements 5+ years of experience shipping production software, with a heavy emphasis on Backend Engineering. Proven experience architecting security-critical systems (e.g., handling payments, PII, medical data, or access management). Deep proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, Go, or Python. Competence in Frontend development (React, Vue, or similar) to support internal tools and dashboards. Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and designing scalable APIs. Must be willing to work on-site in the San Francisco East Bay area. Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States. What will make you stand out Background in Fintech, Banking, Healthcare (HIPAA), or Defense sectors. Deep expertise in Applied Cryptography, Identity Access Management (IAM), or Secure IoT.
