General Purpose and Scope of Position: The Operations Specialist is a support role that assists with all operational aspects of the branch. Key Skills and Abilities Include:
Must be able to read, analyze and interpret written procedures and reportsMust have some knowledge of blending liquid fertilizersMust have some understandings of what fertilizers are compatibleMust have the ability to prioritize ordersMust have some knowledge around DOT regulations and knowledge of a working trucking companyAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from other employees, customers, regulatory agencies, suppliers, etc.Must be able to deal effectively with different personalitiesAbility to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical applicationsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to sit at desk or computer terminal to perform writing, and keying/typing informationWilling and desires to work overtime hours during busy season Key Personal Attributes Include:
High school graduate or equivalentFluent in English, both verbal and writtenGood communication skills on the telephone, two-way radio and with the general publicMust possess good computer skills including knowledge of MS officeExperience with AgVance and Fleetworthy /Comply preferredSolid Safety Compliance record a mustMust possess good mathematical skillsStrong customer service orientation required , including the ability to effectively respond to telephone calls and customer inquiriesMust have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Assist the Facility Manager in the operation of all procedures and processes to manage the PPP business and fertilizer processes and provide accurate information and tracking of salesFollow up and resolve customer requestsProvide support to other team members necessary to attain branch goalAssist in inventory control, and inventory process of Bulk FertilizersPromote safety throughout the branchAssist with GPS and Comply initiatives in keeping the location compliantProcess calls from our salesmen , customers, and other branch locations for orders of materials.Take orders, process, and prepare for pickup or delivery. Complete in an accurate and timely matter to ensure satisfactory billing.Direct coworkers' schedules to satisfy delivery needs.Coordinate shipments of various products with trucking companies.Coordinate transfers of products between branches and main site.Contact trucking companies to coordinate shipments and instruct drivers on the requirements of the loads.Inventory tracking and control. (Fertilizer)Operate truck scale and complete weight tags, bills of lading and hazardous materials shipping papersAnswer telephone and computer inquiries about product ordersCommunicate directions and instructions, both verbally and in writing, to customers, vendors, other employees, and the publicConduct physical inventory counts of products stored in warehouses and bulk storage areasCalculate total quantities of products by weight and/or volumetric measurementsPerforms receptionist duties as needed by responding to calls and visitors in a professional mannerProcess incoming and outgoing mail, order and maintain office supplies, maintain computer and other hard and soft filing systemsUse computer system to enter customer orders for bills of lading and hazardous materials shipping papersOperate truck scales and complete weight tags and shipping papersProvide backup and assistance to other dispatchers and/or receptionist, answering phonesProcess calls from our salesmen , customers, and other branch locations for orders of materialsThe ability to work 50- 60 hours per week is a requirement during the busy season and weekends/nights on occasionPresent a professional image to customers in all interactions (verbal, computer, and in-person) and in personal appearancePerform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner Compensation and Benefits:
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $24.28 - $32.36 per hour.
