Job Details: Specialty: Emergency Medicine Position Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Trauma Center Level: Level 2 Patient Population: Mix with high acuity ER Features: Comprehensive stroke care, separate pediatric ER, on-site OB with dedicated OB ED Annual ER Census: Approximately 140 visits per day Daily Admissions: Around 40% of ER visits Shift Schedule: Shift Times: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM Potential additional shift to be added Call Requirements: No call involved Procedures and Responsibilities: Required Procedures: All ED-relevant procedures Support Staff: Robust support team including nurses, advanced practitioners, and specialists on-call Physicians on Staff per Shift: 2 Facility Features: Trauma Center: Level 2, handling a wide range of emergency cases with high acuity Comprehensive Stroke Center: Yes Pediatric Emergency Department: Separate and dedicated On-Site OB with OB ED: Yes Requirements: Experience: Prior experience in a high-acuity ER setting preferred Certifications: Board certification in Emergency Medicine required Licensing: Must hold a current Texas medical license Duration: Initial duration of 3 months with the potential for extension This locum tenens role offers an exciting opportunity to practice emergency medicine in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
