As a meticulous and detail-oriented professional, you will conduct thorough inspections of buildings and structures at various stages of construction, renovation, or alteration, ensuring adherence to local building codes, regulations, and standards. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will contribute to the overall safety and integrity of our built environment. **Key Responsibilities:**1. Conduct comprehensive inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to verify compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other applicable standards. 2. Review building plans, blueprints, and specifications to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and identify potential issues or discrepancies. 3. Perform on-site inspections during different phases of construction to evaluate structural integrity, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and overall safety measures. 4. Document inspection findings accurately and thoroughly, including any violations, deficiencies, or areas of non-compliance, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders. 5. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address compliance issues, provide guidance on corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of issues. 6. Respond to inquiries from property owners, contractors, and the public regarding building codes, regulations, and inspection processes. 7. Stay informed about changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices, and participate in training and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills. 8. Assist in the enforcement of building codes and regulations by issuing citations, stop-work orders, or other enforcement actions as necessary. 9. Provide guidance and support to colleagues and junior staff members and assist in the training of new inspectors as needed. 10. Represent the department and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and promoting a culture of compliance and safety. **Qualifications:**- ICC Certifications potentially to include: ICC Residential Building, ICC Commercial Building, ICC Residential Combination, ICC Commercial Combination, ICC Residential Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing, ICC Commercial Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing, et al. - Previous experience in building inspection, construction management, or related field preferred. - Knowledge of local, state, and national building codes, regulations, and standards. - Certification as a building inspector or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders. - Proficiency in using computer software and technology for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes. - Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
