General Cardiology in Springfield, Illinois Join a respected academic cardiology department in Springfield, Illinois, as a full-time General Cardiologist. The position is available as the current general cardiologist transitions to an interventional fellowship in mid-2025. Why Join Our Team Academic Opportunity: Join a leading academic medical center with nine cardiology fellows and multiple subspecialty faculty in electrophysiology, interventional, and advanced imaging Diverse Clinical Practice: Split your time between an outpatient clinic and inpatient consults for a balanced and engaging schedule Predictable Cardiology Schedule: Enjoy a structured workweek with weekend rounding only during inpatient weeks, and no overnight call as fellows manage after-hours coverage Teaching and Research: Mentor cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students while participating in weekly conferences, Grand Rounds, and TEE training with dedicated academic time for study and professional growth Who You Are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology Eligible for medical licensure in Illinois Committed to academic medicine, teaching, and patient care Experience with TEE preferred but not required Compensation and Benefits Base Salary: Generous academic salary with additional earning potential Sign-On & Relocation: $10,000 combined allowance Time Off & Support: 5 weeks PTO, 13 holidays, $3,000 CME allowance Comprehensive Benefits: Full health, dental, vision, and retirement coverage Additional Perks: Student loan forgiveness eligibility (State PSLF) and covered license renewals Live and Work in Springfield, Illinois Springfield, the capital city of Illinois, combines the accessibility of a smaller community with the amenities of a larger one.
