The Head of Portfolio and Project Management at the Biogen West Coast Hub (WCH) is a leadership role with strategic, enterprise-level responsibilities focusing on transformation and operational efficiency. This leader is accountable for shaping and executing portfolio strategy, driving an operational efficient PM organization, and ensuring operational excellence across clinical programs at the West Coast Hub (WCH).

Define and implement the WCH portfolio and project management strategy, aligning with enterprise objectives.
Lead the Portfolio & Project Management function, influencing organizational direction and decisionmaking.

Financial Stewardship


~ Partner with Finance and the Head of Strategy and Operations on the departmental budget and resource allocation across all portfolios and initiatives.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing functional team of project managers, planners, and resource managers.
Conduct performance evaluations and drive professional growth across the function.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement at scale, both within the WCH and in partnership with HQ.
You excel at inspiring and motivating teams, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Your passion for building high-performing teams is evident in your leadership style. Proven experience in biotech / pharma portfolio and project management at a strategic and operational level with ~15 years of experience.
Preferred Master's degree or higher in the biological sciences or other related fields.
Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives and drive organizational change.
Strong financial acumen and experience with budget ownership and planning.
Track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills&experience, job location, and internal equity.
