WideNet Consulting Group has a full-time opportunity for a Director of IT to work in Bothell, WA. The Director of IT is responsible for all corporate information technology activities, including infrastructure, software and applications, architecture, security, Help Desk, and vendor management. Ensure strategic alignment with the business, and develop the IT strategy, technology roadmaps, best practices, operational processes, policies, procedures, and technical standards for the Company. Proactively facilitate the strategic relationship between IT and other functions within the organization. Responsible for defining and communicating a “future state” vision or technology – software, infrastructure, cloud, cyber security, and mobile. The Director of IT is responsible for leading the identification of strategic and innovative opportunities that deepen the relationship between people and their work and between the Company and its customers. The Director of IT proactively partners with executives and department leaders to drive the conceptualization and realization of business solutions to create efficient and innovative platforms that enable teams to be productive and business leaders to make informed operational plans and decisions. Essential Functions Build and promote a highly responsive, service-oriented IT organization. Ensure the IT team delivers to the highest standards of the organization, promote cross-organization teamwork, and achieve efficiency and a reputation for high-quality service. Cultivate relationships across the organization to ensure strong partnerships, collaboration, and joint problem-solving. Actively work with business leaders to identify priority, high-value business initiatives and allocate IT resources accordingly. Able to develop an IT vision and mission and lead the IT team and organization on that path. Drive continuous improvement in IT, including in all areas of technology, processes, support, and project execution. Partner with all technology vendors, including negotiating, maintaining, leveraging, and enforcing agreements and related SLAs. Set the strategic direction for all information systems at both The Company and its subsidiaries. Determine future needs and keeps current with technology. Ensure alignment of the IT strategy, resources, and technology architecture direction with The Company’s overall strategic objectives. Establish and communicate a disaster recovery plan in case of outages, systems damage, or loss. Lead the overall systems development life cycle from business/technical requirements, including architecture through design, code, test, test, user test, and deployment. Able to build technological roadmaps, as well as execute them, and continually keep them fresh. Ensure that all IT projects are appropriately scoped, and delivered on time, within budget, and with quality. Understand, identify, and proactively manage business and technology risks. Ensure that all data and IT infrastructure are adequately protected and that risks are identified and effectively managed. Keep all software applications, business productivity tools, and infrastructure highly available, durable, responsive, and secure. Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job, as described in Section E: Working Conditions. Additional Job Responsibilities Occasional travel required to visit business locations in WA, NC, AZ, and TX. Direct and manage external vendors and consulting teams effectively to ensure accountability and successful delivery for complex large-scale projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in MIS or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 10+ years of experience in an information technology role, including hands-on or management experience with Oracle, infrastructure, networking, software engineering, security, cloud, and mobile technologies. 5+ years of experience in a management role Able to develop and manage a budget and perform financial analysis for business cases. Able to write business reports and develop presentations, as well as effectively deliver them to executives. Strong written and oral communication skills with all levels of personnel within the organization Able to present technical concepts in business language. Must have proven ability to think analytically. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Must work well with people. Additional Preferred Qualifications Able to develop and manage a budget and perform financial analysis for business cases. Able to write business reports and develop presentations, as well as effectively deliver them to executives. Strong written and oral communication skills with all levels of personnel within the organization Able to present technical concepts in business language. Must have proven ability to think analytically. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Must work well with people. xrczosw Salary range is $140,000-185,000 depending on experience.
