S. in 8 major cities, Volos industryleading digital platform offers an expanding array of nonsports social activities to enable adults to connect with peers through play.
The Managing Director is responsible for the sales and operations within the market, including promotions and management of all leagues, activities, and events, in addition to regular managing and mentoring of their team.
City Performance & Sales
The Managing Director is accountable for city performance related to both adult and youth programming goals
City strategic planning
HQ provides structure and best practices; the Managing Director uses city knowledge to maximize product quality, revenue, and margins
Manage city budget, revenue, league plans & cash flow
Create & execute city growth strategy for both youth and adult programs
Manage promotion and recruitment of new and past customers
Manage budget and ensure profit margins are being held
Office Management
Fulltime team recruitment, selection, hiring & training
Build team office culture
Office team evaluation & discipline
Staff vacation management
Confidential management of staff compensation
Internal office & team communication including both kids & adult staff
Manage, mentor, train and coach team including status updates, budgets, goal setting and customer service response practices
Help identify and recruit fulltime and parttime staff in the local market
Create and manage the sports revenue plan
Work with HR to ensure a pipeline for incoming interns and appropriate goals and projects are assigned
Uphold Volo Quality Standards
Stickler for branding, operational structure & integrating kids programming
Assist in marketwide event planning, sponsorship activation and media relations as needed
Collect program metrics and analysis throughout the season and develop tools for evaluation for youth and adult programs
Escalation point for customer service issues
Anticipate and provide proactive solutions to prevent customer service problems from arising in the future
Manage and execute all marketing partnerships and sponsorship activations
Public & Private Relationship Management
Track the needs of each site including improvements
Facilitate partnerships with community organizations, neighborhoods and potential funders
Establish and maintain relationships with facilities, bars, sponsors and other vendors update and record all facility and bar partner contact information
Seek out and manage new business opportunities through development projects, bar, local sponsor, & local government relationships
This role will require periodic work out at our leagues, in the evenings and on weekends.
812 years experience, ideally in a sport or event management and/or business development capacity
~ Experience managing a team
~ Can marshal resources effectively and comfortably navigate a fastpaced, everchanging environment with minimal supervision
~ Detailoriented project manager experience managing multiple projects across functional areas and wearing many hats
~ Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active office environment
