Washington DC, United States The Brydon Group Full time

About the Company All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description. The Brydon Group recently acquired a services and software platform serving the government contracting (GovCon) market. The platform combines deep domain compliance services across finance, contracts, and talent with a growing, mission-critical SaaS compliance product providing critical cybersecurity compliance to the defense industrial base (DIB). Technology sits at the center of this next phase of the platform’s growth. Technology leadership will involve building secure, compliant SaaS at scale; modernizing internal systems that power services delivery; and integrating future software acquisitions into a cohesive platform. About the Role We are seeking a technical, execution-oriented Chief Technology Officer to lead technology across the platform. This role owns engineering, infrastructure, security, and internal systems, with responsibility for technology across both SaaS and services, which both support GovCon clients. The CTO will report directly to the platform CEO and manage a small engineering team. This is a key leadership role with broad scope – balancing product needs, automation requests, security and compliance requirements, and platform-level technical decisions. The right candidate is deeply technical, personally fluent in system architecture and cloud infrastructure, and comfortable engaging directly in design reviews, architectural decisions, and critical technical trade-offs. Key Responsibilities Lead technology strategy and execution across the SaaS and services platform. Personally own core architectural decisions across application, data, and cloud infrastructure layers. Manage and scale a lean, high-output engineering team with the mandate to scale as the platform grows. Stay close to the codebase and systems – not as a day-to-day individual contributor, but as a technical authority who reviews designs, challenges assumptions, and guides implementation. Own infrastructure, cloud architecture, and compliance initiatives, including positioning our infrastructure to support future FedRAMP and IL4 compliance as DIB customer requirements evolve. Protect customer and company data, ensuring a strong cybersecurity posture. Drive automation and AI-assisted tooling in high-volume consulting workflows—improving delivery speed, profitability, and service differentiation. Partner closely with the CEO and VP of Product on platform strategy, prioritization, and execution.Evaluate the technical posture of potential acquisitions and lead post-acquisition technology integrations. Make pragmatic build, buy, and partner decisions that support growth without over-engineering. Bring clarity and focus to technology decisions, balancing speed, risk, and long-term scalability. You Might Be a Fit If You Have 10+ years of progressive technology leadership and engineering experience, including significant time as a hands-on engineer and engineering manager in GovCon or other regulated B2G environments. Have personally designed, built, and operated secure, production systems handling sensitive data. Have experience supporting or building GovTech SaaS platforms. Are deeply familiar with security, compliance, and data protection requirements in regulated markets. Have led cloud and infrastructure decisions where reliability, auditability, and trust are non-negotiable. Are comfortable operating across product, services, and internal systems – not just external-facing software. Bring a bias for execution and pragmatism, critical for a fast-growing, PE-backed environment. Can operate as a true business partner to the CEO, translating technical decisions into business impact. Success in This Role Looks Like The platform operates securely, reliably, and compliantly as it scales. Internal systems and automation materially improve consulting delivery efficiency and margin. SaaS products and the services organization are supported by a coherent, scalable technical foundation. Technology enables faster growth, smoother integrations, and better customer outcomes. Why Join Executive-level role with broad ownership across product, services, and platform technology. Opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a growing B2G platform. Backing from a thoughtful, long-term private equity partner focused on value creation. xrczosw Direct partnership with an engaged CEO and senior leadership team. Competitive compensation, equity participation, benefits, and flexibility - compensation is expected to be in the range of $250,000 OTE (range reflects anticipated compensation based on experience and qualifications)
