The Civil Construction Estimator with MasTec in Austin, Texas is responsible for assisting with the administrative function of current projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material and subcontractor take-offs for bid projects. This position supports Project teams and works with vendors as well as personnel from other departments.
Candidate MUST have Civil Construction Estimation experience.
Prepare accurate take-of materials, subcontracting, and production items for projects.
Acquire plans for projects.
Bid accurately using Bid2Win software or comparable software.
Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders for projects.
Assist operations in administrative duties on projects.
Prepare job files for operations.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience and Proficiency with Bid2Win (Bidding) Software.
Knowledge of methods and specifications in the utility construction field.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Previous utility construction project estimator experience.
Ability to use Bid2Win software and other comparable software efficiently and proficiently.
This job operates in a field environment. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
