The client is looking for IT System Administrator III for the Headquarters located downtown Los Angeles, CA. The work schedule is a hybrid schedule. Schedule : 6:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with alternating Fridays off.
This position is a journey-level role responsible for performing Information Technology System Administrator duties. The role requires strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database administration, web system administration (IIS, Apache, Tomcat), data management principles, and server operating systems including Windows Server, Linux, and Unix.
The IT System Administrator III will support senior administrators in troubleshooting, monitoring, analyzing, and documenting systems and applications across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include software installation, system upgrades, patching, and assisting with the administration of SQL Server databases, multi-tier applications, websites, and SharePoint sites.
General Job Duties
# Perform high-level troubleshooting, monitoring, analysis, and documentation of systems and applications for tuning, configuration, and optimization.
# Assist with system upgrades and patches.
# Execute disaster recovery plans for assigned areas.
# Assist in designing systems related to the discipline.
# Participate in project teams as needed.
# Perform other related IT System Administrator duties.
Database Administration Duties
# Assist with planning, installation, configuration, capacity determination for database or web systems.
# Support installation of upgrades and patches for database and web systems.
# Develop and update system documentation.
# Troubleshoot and debug enterprise-level issues.
# Develop and execute disaster recovery plans.
# Prepare requirements and develop database/web structures.
# Estimate time, resource needs, and project scope.
# Perform tasks for database or web project implementation.
# Research and evaluate current technologies, trends, and best practices.
# Assist in designing architecture and standards to ensure integrity, security, and availability.
Security Administration Duties
# Plan and design security access for internal/external environments.
# Participate in implementing hardware, software, and infrastructure security measures.
# Configure security interfaces for desktops, enterprise systems, and web environments.
# Execute disaster recovery plans for security systems.
# Remediate and resolve security issues using monitoring tools.
# Conduct security analysis and reporting for audits.
# Research and evaluate emerging security trends and requirements.
# Maintain documentation related to security administration.
# Develop and execute information security disaster recovery plans.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience, OR
Master’s degree in related field and 2 years of relevant experience.
Relevant Experience Includes:
Deployment, configuration, administration, and debugging of:
Windows & Linux servers
Web servers (IIS, Apache, WebLogic, JBoss)
Microsoft SharePoint
Web certificates
Microsoft SQL Server databases
Required Knowledge
Information technology principles, system analysis, system testing, data management, and hardware/software configurations
Disaster recovery practices
Server OS operations (Windows Server, Linux, Unix)
Database & web administration practices
Security administration, layered security, incident response, monitoring, and remediation
Computer forensics concepts
Networking and operating system security requirements
Required Skills & Abilities
Serve as project lead for large systems
Troubleshoot system issues and perform administration tasks
Analyze requests and provide customer support
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Use independent judgment; problem-solving
Prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and in a team
Operate standard office technology and applications
