Due to our company's continued growth, Townsend Engineering has a need for a Civil Engineering Technician to join our close-knit team in Davenport, Iowa. Our ideal candidate would be a self-motived individual with civil design experience who enjoys working on various projects, in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining the highest level of client service. The right person would have experience with civil engineering projects and preparing plans for residential and commercial projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Primary Responsibilities and Duties: • Civil Engineering project planning and design • Preparation of project plans and specifications • On-site measurements • Interact with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors • Inspect facilities or sites to determine if specifications or standards have been met • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data. Required Experience and Qualifications: • High School Diploma • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D design software • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and Civil3D • Iowa and Illinois design experience preferred • Experience with site design, grading plans and storm water detention layout • Strong verbal, written, and communications skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical subject matter to a wide range of audiences • Multitasker who can work independently • Desire and ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities • Sound mathematical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Full-time positions are available, with a work schedule of Monday – Friday.
