Job DescriptionJob Description NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT Salary: Negotiable Job Type: Full-time Hours: Monday-Thursday 9-5pm and Friday 9-4pm Location: 2 Offices 451 E Almond Ave, Madera CA, 936377121 N Whitney Ave, Fresno CA, 93720 Position Summary We are looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Gastroenterology Practice. Experience preferred, but not necessary for the right candidate who has an interest in Gastroenterology and willingness to work hard. New graduates are encouraged to apply. This position requires providing medical care including medical screening examinations and evaluations. As a gastroenterology (GI) nurse practitioner, you diagnose and treat patients with digestive system problems. Hire will be expected to consult patients which includes taking an initial history and conducting physical examinations, follow up with patients after procedures (colonoscopy, endoscopy, fibroscan, etc), dispense medication, order any necessary other medical examinations or referrals. Position requires a current State of California Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License, BLS certification. Qualifications: Clinical Certification: a full, current and unrestricted State of California Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License. Current BLS Certification Responsibilities Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease process Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use Provide a full range of nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the Medical Director/Gastroenterologist (example: supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving all organ systems) Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated. Treat patients with common acute and chronic conditions, illnesses, within accepted protocols, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in collaboration with a physician Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as needed and order diagnostic tests as applicable. Prescribe and dispense medications.
