As a Sr Manager of Quality, you are responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met throughout manufacturing sites during production. This is a critical newly created position that will have oversight in the areas of compliance and quality assurance.
Essential Job Functions
  • Establishes business strategies, systems and controls to support company and customer objectives in the areas of Quality Assurance/Compliance
  • Establishes and reports key Quality performance metrics and provides leadership support across the organization to ensure scorecard objectives are met
  • Implements and maintains overarching Quality framework, which utilizes assessment, training, and monitoring techniques to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, and independent agency standards
  • Establishes and assures implementation of company-wide Quality programs
  • Establishes and monitors quality incident resolution process including completion of root cause analyses, calculation of total cost of quality, implementation of corrective actions, and communication to key stakeholders
  • Addresses Quality concerns and operational improvement opportunities working with key stakeholders and implementing corrective actions
  • Establishes the external/internal audit processes and supports site Quality representative responsible for executing any needed corrective action to address audit deficiencies
  • Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the Quality function, working closely with direct reports
  • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site
  • Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
  • Knowledge of and experience with effectively managing changes to the production environment and process
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify a problem and use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution
  • Knowledge of packaging industry
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting
  • Frequent walking and standing required
  • Travel required - 40%
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
