BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes confidence and trust. Capable of working independently/unsupervised. Perform diagnostic Ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician. Perform all Ultrasound Imaging techniques and examinations according to established standards and procedures: Abdominal, Retroperitoneal, Obstetric and Gynecological, Carotid, Vascular Small Parts, and Intracavity exams. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. The schedule may include days, weekends, nights, and call rotation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adheres to the hospital and department policies.
Requires regular and prompt attendance.
Works assigned schedule including overtime and calls as scheduled.
Assists with training.
Maintains an orderly and clean work environment.
Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families, and health care team.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma required.
Graduate of a program in Ultrasound Technology.
License/Certification: Certification in Ultrasound or eligible.
ARDMS OR ARRT Certification within 6 months of hire required.

Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination .
