Maintenance Mechanic

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Torrance, CA Pay Rate: $29 per hour Position Type: Contract Work Arrangement: Onsite Purpose Statement The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair, as well as preventive maintenance. Key Accountabilities and Outcomes Troubleshoot and diagnose all maintenance failures. Use assembly drawings, P&IDs, and manuals to tune equipment for operation. Apply electrical (VFDs, SCRs, motor starters) and logic (PLC, SLC) principles to solve equipment problems. Perform basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facilities/building maintenance as needed. Work with operating devices such as gauges, RTDs, pressure transmitters, I/Ps, and vortex flow meters. Train new associates and team members on required maintenance skills. Maintain work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and safety guidelines. Operate SCADA system and complete appropriate paperwork. Perform other related duties assigned by the Team Leader. Assist operations associates with basic equipment troubleshooting and production support. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 3–5 years of experience in food processing, including troubleshooting and repair of production equipment with sophisticated control systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to train other associates in maintenance operations. Ability to work as a member of a self-directed work team. Proficiency in SCADA systems. General mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical and logic principles. Basic plumbing, metalworking, and general facility/building maintenance knowledge. Awareness of and ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines. Awareness of and ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines. Knowledge of proper machine operating and adjusting procedures. Ability to contribute to production improvement initiatives, associate involvement, and temporary teams as assigned. Required Skills Must be available to work 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM). Pre-screening will be conducted; if matched, candidates will be invited for an on-site interview with the Hiring Manager.
