SAP BW/BPC Consultant

Job Title: SAP BW / BPC Consultant – Financial Analytics & Consolidations Employment Type: Contract Duration: 6-12+ months Start: Immediate Workplace Type: Hybrid (3 days a week on-site) Location: Houston, Texas Expenses: None - Must be local or relocate Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Senior SAP BW/BPC Consultant with 10+ years of experience in SAP BW and 2+ years of in-depth hands-on experience with SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation), specifically focused on consolidations and forecast eliminations. This role is a strategic position designed to bridge financial consolidation processes with advanced enterprise analytics. The ideal candidate will serve as the functional and technical liaison between finance leadership (CFO, CEO, Controllers) and the broader data and analytics ecosystem, including Snowflake data architects and Power BI dashboard developers. You will be responsible for owning and delivering C-Suite-level dashboards, driving the underlying data models that integrate SAP BW/BPC financial data with enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake) assets. The dashboards will encompass key financial and operational metrics such as Net Revenue, EBITDA, Cash Flow, Production Efficiency, and Customer Margins. Responsibilities: SAP BW / BPC Focus: Lead design, modeling, and extraction of financial data from SAP BW and SAP BPC Consolidation models . Deeply understand and explain consolidation processes and forecast eliminations , intercompany eliminations, and currency translation logic. Work hands-on in building BEx Queries, Composite Providers, ADSOs , and related artifacts in SAP BW/4HANA . Extract and stage data from BPC and BW using SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services) for further downstream analytics and modeling. Financial and Executive Analytics: Translate financial planning and consolidation outputs into KPIs and dashboard elements consumable by the CEO, CFO, and division controllers . Design and validate financial data flows from SAP into Snowflake and downstream Power BI dashboards. Lead dashboard requirement sessions with senior stakeholders, ensuring reporting aligns with internal finance and investor standards. Cross-Platform Data Integration: Collaborate with Snowflake architects and data engineers to ensure robust and scalable financial data models . Coordinate with Power BI development teams to deliver visually compelling and semantically accurate dashboards. Work with the Accounting, FP&A, and Business Controllers to validate financial numbers, reconciliations, and business rules. Qualifications & Skills: Must Have: 10+ years of SAP BW experience including modeling, data extraction, and performance optimization. 2+ years of SAP BPC Consolidations experience , including ownership of intercompany eliminations, currency conversion, ownership management, and consolidation monitor. Deep understanding of forecast eliminations and the full consolidation lifecycle . Expertise in SAP HANA native views and integrating HANA models with BW layers. Strong experience with SAP BODS for ETL, particularly for BPC-to-Snowflake pipelines. Business & Functional Skills: Strong financial domain knowledge — P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, EBITDA, Revenue Recognition , etc. Demonstrated experience working with C-level executives and division controllers in a corporate setting. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills. Technical/Tool Experience: SAP BW/4HANA SAP BPC (Consolidation, Planning optional but nice to have) SAP BODS (ETL) SAP HANA Modeling Snowflake (awareness and collaboration with Snowflake engineers) Power BI (user-level familiarity to collaborate with visualization teams) Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Manufacturing or Industrial sectors with an understanding of operational KPIs. Familiarity with SEC reporting , GAAP-compliant consolidation , or other regulatory requirements. Experience with SAP Datasphere , Group Reporting , or SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud) is a plus. Soft Skills: Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture and translate it into actionable data initiatives. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to data quality. Self-driven and capable of leading initiatives with minimal supervision.
