Global Logistics Network Optimization Specialist Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The impact you'll make in this role: As a Global Logistics Network Optimization Specialist, you will support the optimization and continuous improvement of 3M's global logistics network. By contributing to network modeling projects, leveraging digitization tools, and performing advanced analytics, you will help enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels across global logistics operations. This role will work closely with cross-functional and regional teams, supporting project execution, developing analytics insights, and implementing digital solutions that simplify and improve logistics processes. You will also monitor performance metrics, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and stay current on emerging technologies that can enhance logistics capabilities. This role reports to the Global Logistics Network Optimization Manager and is integral to the success of 3M Global Logistics. As a Global Logistics Network Optimization Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Supporting logistics network optimization projects applying advanced modelling tools such as Supply Chain Guru (Llamasoft), Optilogic, AnyLogistix, or other modeling platforms to simulate, optimize, and enhance logistics network efficiency and resilience. Analyzing the current logistics network to design optimized product flow paths and support the implementation of improved flow solutions. Validate and enhance data structures, develop models, and manage and follow-up scenarios Contributing to strategies that optimize transportation routes, improving cost efficiency, service levels, and network resilience. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that streamline processes, reduce costs, and strengthen transportation capabilities. Collaborating with cross-functional teamsincluding Supply Chain, IT, Data & Analytics and Logistics Operationsto ensure seamless integration of optimization solutions and alignment with broader business goals. Conducting complex data analyses and developing insights that inform innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs, translating data-driven insights into actionable recommendations and solutions. Assisting in project execution and coordination, contributing to the success of large-scale network optimization and transformation initiatives. Monitoring and reporting on KPIs, leveraging dashboards and advanced visualization tools to track performance, identify trends, and drive informed decision-making. Your skills and expertise: Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, or Business (completed and verified prior to start) Seven (7) years of combined experience in Logistics, Distribution, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Business Operations across private, public, government, or military environments. Four (4) years of hands-on experience with network optimization in Supply Chain/Logistics environment applying tools such as Supply Chain Guru/Llamasoft, Optilogic, Gurobi, JDA or equivalent platforms. Three (3) years of experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, or similar. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Master's degree preferred. Professional certifications such as CSCP, CLTD, SC Pro, or APICS are considered a strong asset. Experience with logistics and supply chain management systems (WMS, TMS, ERP) and related software platforms. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with strong ability to prepare executive-level presentations and reports. Expertise with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.), including advanced analytics and automation capabilities. Strong technical skills in data transformation and modeling, with proficiency in Power BI, SQL, DAX, Python, or related languages. Proficiency in database management and data analysis, with the ability to manipulate and interpret large, complex datasets. Proven track record of designing and delivering technically robust, competitive solutions aligned with business objectives. Strong knowledge of optimization and simulation techniques, leveraging advanced software tools to support decision-making. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and project management frameworks (PMO standards, agile methodology, etc.). Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently in complex, fast-paced, and global environments. Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across diverse audiences. Analytical problem-solver with a track record of translating complex logistics and supply chain data into actionable insights. Prior experience in consulting, operational excellence, or large-scale transformation programs is highly desirable. Work location: This role has an on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN.
