Pediatric Hospitalist in SC 10 miles to Myrtle Beach 100 miles to Charleston 4 hours to Savannah Family Medicine Residency Program NCAA Division I Athletics This is a full-time inpatient pediatrician role, focusing on providing care to newborns and pediatric patients admitted SCHEDULE: 8 hours in-house per day (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) 24/7 coverage with 16 hours of on-call responsibilities Typical census: 8-15 newborns per day and 0-2 pediatric patients per day Call responsibilities include: Nurse phone consultations, potential admissions from the ED, and attending high-risk deliveries or stabilizing sick newborns (calls come from nurses and/or ER doctors NOT from parents) Approximately 1,600 deliveries annually, expected to grow to 1,800-2,000 due to the expansion of the Women s Health department. Cerner EMR. 1 full time hospitalist. 1 part time hospitalist that helps cover weekends, holidays, and PTO. Also provides additional support on high census days if needed. 1 part time APRN on W, TH, F (morning only). Typical Census: 8-15 newborns per day / 0-2 pediatric patients per day. 90% of inpatient duties involve managing newborns, including nursery coverage. 10% of duties involve managing straightforward pediatric admissions such as basic ENT cases. No complex subspecialty care or PICU-level cases. Procedures Include: Circumcisions, emergency CPAP management, frenotomies, and excision of simple polydactyly.
