I'm working with an established structural engineering consultancy looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer, PE to its growing building structures team. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who wants to remain heavily involved in technical building design , while taking on greater responsibility for project delivery and the management of a small engineering team. The firm works on a diverse portfolio of building projects, with particular strength in mid-rise and high-rise construction, multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality and commercial developments . The successful engineer will have significant experience designing cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures and will be comfortable leading projects from concept through construction. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take responsibility for the structural design and delivery of complex building projects while providing technical direction to junior and project-level engineers. Leading the structural design of mid-rise and high-rise building projects Designing cast-in-place reinforced concrete framing systems , foundations and associated structural elements Performing and reviewing structural analysis, calculations and engineering documentation Managing multiple projects through design and construction phases Leading and mentoring a small team of structural engineers Coordinating directly with architects, contractors, developers and other engineering disciplines Providing technical input during construction, including RFIs, submittals and field-related design issues Supporting project planning, schedules, budgets and overall delivery Contributing to the continued development of the firm's structural engineering team 8+ years of structural engineering experience ~ Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ~ Strong building design experience within a structural engineering consultancy ~ Significant experience with cast-in-place reinforced concrete design ~ Previous experience leading projects and managing or mentoring small engineering teams ~ Strong understanding of structural analysis, building codes and construction documentation ~ Ability to communicate effectively with architects, contractors, clients and internal engineering teams This role sits at a good point between Senior Engineer and Project Manager/Technical Lead . You'll have genuine responsibility for projects and people without moving completely away from engineering and into administration. The company has an established portfolio of complex building work and offers the opportunity to work on substantial concrete structures while developing toward a broader leadership position.
