Certification: Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Ohio is required.3. Must have or be able to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.4. Must also have completed one of the following certifications: Ohio Medication Card, Ohio Organization of Practical Nurse Educators (OOPNES) Card, National Association for Practical Nurse Education Services (NAPNES) Card. If assigned to general care units, Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification is required. If assigned to critical care units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required. If assigned to the Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Sedation Services, Transitional Care/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and Transport, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NRP is required within 1 year from date of hire.5.
