The Stepdown Unit serves as the bridge between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and General Medical/Surgical Units. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.
A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM – 7:00PM or 7:00PM – 7:00AM.
Provide direct nursing care.
~ Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
~ Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
~ Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
~ Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
~ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
~ One-year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
~ Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Personal Protective Equipment:
~ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
