This position is for someone who understands news and storytelling, with a passion for serving our viewers and readers with stories that matter to them.
This full-time position will be based in either our Chicago or New York newsrooms and will include weekend and evening hours.
Position Description Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitors
Create or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news stories
Craft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a difference
Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
Update NewsNation digital platforms (website, app, email, social) with breaking news and topical news of the day
Pitch stories daily and develop multiple ideas off a single news topic that push stories forward
Utilize SEO best practices
Flexibility to adjust schedule and assignments as network's needs evolve.
Qualifications 3+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
Experience working with video and social media
Excellent communicator, both oral and written
Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Salary Range Salary Range : $60,000 to $75,000 annually
