An excellent opportunity has opened for an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician looking for a locum tenens position in Iowa. This position offers a unique chance to work in a reputable facility providing quality emergency care. The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible with at least two years of emergency medicine experience. Position Overview: Specialty : Emergency Medicine Start Date : December 16, 2024 Contract Duration : Ongoing Shift Schedule : 12-hour shifts available, days or nights Shifts run from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Approximately 25-30 shifts per month with on-call coverage available Support Staff : 30-hour advanced practice provider (APP) coverage Average Daily Census : Approximately 71 patients per day Facility and Patient Details: Emergency Department (ER) within a hospital Beds : 366 Patient Demographic : Infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics EMR System : Cerner Trauma Level : Level 3 Observance of Holidays : Coverage may be required on major holidays Candidate Requirements: Licensure : Must hold a current Iowa medical license or be eligible under the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) Valid DEA and CSR licenses Certifications : Required: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and MRT for adult and child abuse reporting Board Certifications : Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (also accepted: ABPS, IM, or FM with Emergency Medicine experience) Experience : Minimum of 2 years in emergency medicine Experience with Cerner EMR : Preferred Credentialing : Process may take up to 90 days This position is an excellent match for skilled emergency medicine physicians interested in a high-paced, diverse, and well-supported work environment.
