Overview Apply for the Immigrant Justice Program Director role at Asian Law Caucus . This is a Regular, FullTime, Exempt, Management Position that reports to the Chief Strategy Officer. The position is hybrid, with a requirement to work from our San Francisco, CA office. Applications are encouraged to be submitted as soon as possible and the role will be filled on a rolling basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Compensation is annual and ranges from $130,000 to $174,709. The Opportunity At a critical moment when civil and constitutional rights are under unprecedented attack, Asian Law Caucus (ALC) seeks an experienced litigator or policy expert to serve as Program Director for our Immigrant Justice Program. The Program Director will lead a team of attorneys and community advocates, providing vision, leadership, and mentorship, while working closely with senior leadership and the executive team. This role will advance ALCs mission to protect immigrant communities, particularly Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities, including Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian (AMEMSA) communities. Key responsibilities include leading systemschange initiatives through integrated direct services, coalition building, innovative impact litigation, and strategic advocacy, and collaborating with ALCs other programs and strategies. The Organization Founded in 1972, ALC is the nations first legal organization dedicated to advancing and defending the civil rights of Asian and Pacific Islander communities. ALC engages in a wide array of activitiesincluding housing, civil rights litigation, advocacy for landmark policy changes, and direct client representationto advance the rights of lowincome immigrants and communities of color across its various programs, including immigrant rights, workers rights, housing rights, national security, community safety, and national democracy initiatives. Responsibilities Strategy Development & Implementation Develop and oversee program goals and strategies in partnership with the Executive Team. Collaborate on community engagement strategies and ensure successful execution. Identify intersecting Immigrant Justice work with other programs and collaborate on strategy and execution. Partner with Development staff on grant proposals, reporting, and fundraising events. Maintain technical expertise on immigration issues impacting our clients and communities. Community, Partner, & Funder Engagement Establish and deepen relationships with grassroots partners, advocacy and legal organizations, and government officials. Act as an ambassador for the program and organization, effectively communicating ALCs breadth of work in various forums. Engage with funders, providing regular written analyses and identifying new opportunities in partnership with senior leadership. Leadership & Team Management Lead, manage, and mentor team members with clear accountability and effective work plan implementation. Develop and manage the Immigrant Justice team budget and resources. Recruit, hire, and supervise staff attorneys and community advocates. Contribute to organizational strategy and decision making as a member of the leadership/management team. Promote a healthy culture of collaboration and accountability for the organization and the team. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications J.D. and California bar membership required. Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in immigration and/or removal defense, constitutional and civil rights, with a legal services, policy advocacy, and/or state/federal court litigation approach. Experience working with external cocounsel or in a coalition setting and demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts constructively. Excellent research, analytical, written, and oral communication skills. 3 to 5 years of experience managing and supervising staff. Familiarity with the intersection of immigration and other issues such as employment, housing, national security, and civil rights is a plus. Ability to conduct longterm visioning and strategic planning for the program and organization. Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, community advocates, and communitybased organizations. Demonstrated commitment to building power for and with grassroots communities. Experience working with AAPI and AMEMSA community members impacted by immigration and/or criminal legal systems is highly desired. Problem solver, team player with a sense of humor. NonEnglish language skills in AMEMSA or Asian languages (e.g., Arabic, Farsi, Hindi, Khmer, Vietnamese, Chinese, Urdu) are a plus but not required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
