As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated *Diesel Mechanic* to join our team and maintain our fleet of MCI J Model buses, ensuring they run safely and efficiently. *We are seeking a *skilled Diesel Mechanic* with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical issues in diesel engines and related systems. This role involves working in a *fast-paced environment*, supporting our fleet operations to ensure optimal performance and reliability. As a Diesel Mechanic at Werner Coach, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our buses, working both independently and as part of a dedicated team. *Bus experience is a plus*, and a *CDL and Inspection License* are highly desirable but not required. *Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues* in diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, and related systems. * *Perform routine maintenance* and repairs, including inspections, oil changes, brake services, and preventive maintenance. * *Conduct repairs efficiently* using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals. * *Maintain accurate records* of repairs, services performed, and parts used. * *Work on solo projects* as well as contribute to team-oriented tasks to maintain fleet reliability. * *Willingness to stay until the job is done*, ensuring buses are safe and operational. *Strong mechanical knowledge* with the ability to diagnose complex issues in diesel engines and related systems. * *Familiarity with bus maintenance* is advantageous but not required. * *Proficiency in using hand tools* and diagnostic equipment specific to diesel mechanics. * *CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus* – or willingness to obtain. * *Inspection License is a plus* – or willingness to obtain. * *Reliable and punctual* – Start time is *4:00 AM*, Monday through Friday, with some weekends required. *Competitive hourly pay.* * *Comprehensive benefits package* including health insurance and 401k matched retirement plans. * *Opportunity to work on a fleet of MCI J Model buses*, gaining specialized knowledge and experience. * *Interested candidates are encouraged to *apply online* or *submit their resume* to -- Please include "Diesel Mechanic Application" in the subject line. *Become a part of a company that has been safely transporting customers since 1929.
