Facility Description One of the largest hospitals in the state, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 703-bed hospital with an additional 60-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The facility recently completed a large expansion project, adding a new Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery unit, and the Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital complete with a Pediatric Emergency Room. Now in its second century of providing premiere healthcare services, CRMH also features a Level I trauma center. In addition to offering high-tech services, the hospital is home to 30 Graduate Medical Education Programs affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Patients have access to nearby specialty clinics, family medical centers, and a host of personalized treatment options, making this the region's most comprehensive group of healthcare providers.
Location Description Located atop the magnificent Blue Ridge Plateau in southwestern Virginia, Floyd is a haven of natural beauty renowned for our hospitality and for a vibrant culture of music, arts, local foods and wines, and outdoor recreation. Floyd is conveniently located 30 minutes from our Christiansburg New River Valley Hospital, a 146-bed Level III Trauma Center, and 40 minutes from Blacksburg, VA - home to Virginia Tech as well as one hour from Roanoke, VA.
Community Description The Town of Floyd is known as a regional destination for music, especially bluegrass, and old-time music. The Friday Night Jamboree, which features local and area bands, has been held each Friday night in Floyd for many years, gaining in popularity very recently. The Winter Sun, a complex in downtown Floyd, frequently hosts shows for bands.
