We're seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospice Medical Director to lead our efforts in providing exceptional medical oversight and support for our hospice care programs. As a Hospice Medical Director, you'll guide the medical components of our hospice care, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of compassionate and personalized treatment in their end-of-life journey. You'll serve as a vital connection between our interdisciplinary team, attending physicians, and the broader medical community, fostering meaningful collaboration and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Provide oversight for the medical component of hospice care across all locations under the hospice's certification. Ensure proper evaluation for hospice eligibility, advise on patient care decisions, and maintain compliance with all Medicare/Medicaid and regulatory standards. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during crisis situations and serve as a consultant for attending physicians and patients. Participate in and contribute to Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities to ensure continued care excellence. Build relationships with the medical community while supporting physician outreach, facility communication, and community education initiatives. What You'll Bring to Compassus: Education & Experience: Medical Degree or Doctor of Osteopathy required. Experience in leadership and collaboration in medical care settings is highly valued. Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to embrace and promote integrated healthcare philosophy. Expertise in medical regulations, program policies, and quality improvement initiatives. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations: Must possess a current Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy license in the state of employment.
