This school-based role, facilitated through the Northwestern Illinois Association (NIA), consists of 37.5 hours per week and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students across K12 grade levels. As an OT in this setting, you will conduct individualized evaluations, design and implement therapy plans tailored to student needs, and provide direct services to improve motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence. Youll collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to adapt classroom environments and activities, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain documentation in compliance with school and state regulations. The therapy department emphasizes evidence-based practices and provides access to specialized resources, including a therapy library and professional development opportunities. Therapists benefit from clinical supervision, peer collaboration, and ongoing training in areas such as sensory processing, motor development, and body mechanics.
