Technical Director/Architecture Specialist

Zantech is looking for a talented Technical Director/Architecture Specialist to contribute to the success of our upcoming Enterprise Business Transformation project in a Hybrid role based out of the Washington DC Metro area .
The Technical Director/Architecture Specialist will play a crucial role in:
Enterprise, Business & Data/AI Architecture Leadership (specialized support)
Implementation, Integration & Quality Assurance Support (architecture deep-dives)
Summary The Technical Director/Architecture Specialist will play a crucial role in providing specialized architecture expertise supporting the primary Senior Technical Director in complex technical domains requiring deep specialized knowledge. This role complements the Senior Technical Director by providing targeted expertise in areas such as advanced AI/ML architecture, complex integration patterns, security architecture deep-dives, or other specialized domains as needed. Functions as architecture advisor and technical specialist rather than program leadership.
Impact Provides critical specialized depth enabling comprehensive architecture coverage without overloading primary Senior Technical Director. Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to Provide specialized architecture expertise supporting Senior Technical Director in complex technical domains
Conduct architecture deep-dives and technical assessments in specialized areas
Advise on complex integration patterns, AI/ML implementations, security architectures, or other specialized domains
Review and validate technical approaches proposed by implementation vendors
Support proof-of-concept architecture and technical validation activities
Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and advanced architecture patterns
Assist with technical risk assessments for complex modernization initiatives
Participate in architecture governance reviews for high-complexity technical decisions
Develop specialized architecture patterns and standards in domain of expertise
Support Senior Technical Director #1 with technical advisory during critical decision points
Provide on-call architecture expertise for urgent technical issues in specialized domain
Required Experience or Knowledge of the following technologies/functions 15+ years specialized technical architecture experience with recognized deep expertise in one or more domains: AI/ML architecture, security architecture, integration architecture, cloud architecture, or data architecture
Deep specialized expertise in at least one critical architecture domain
AI/ML architecture and model deployment patterns (if AI specialist)
Security architecture and Zero Trust implementation (if security specialist)
Complex integration patterns and API architecture (if integration specialist)
Advanced cloud architecture patterns (if cloud specialist)
Data architecture and analytics platforms (if data specialist)
Architecture review and validation
Technical risk assessment and mitigation
Proof-of-concept architecture and validation
Architecture standards and pattern development
Preferred Education/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field
Master's degree or PhD in specialized domain
Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Security, or related field
AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty (if AI focus)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Architecture (CISSP-ISSAP) (if security focus)
Required Security Clearance US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret trust or higher clearance, per contract requirements.
