Our client, a PE-backed company in the safety solutions sector, is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join their finance team in Stamford, CT. This is a strategic finance role with direct management responsibilities, providing a unique opportunity to oversee a small accounting team while contributing to the companys financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency in a fastgrowing, PEbacked environment. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management: Manage, mentor, and develop a small accounting team; set priorities, provide coaching, and support career development. Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthend close processes. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide actionable insights to business leaders. Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with department heads to support financial decisionmaking, cost management, and operational improvements. Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Process Improvement & Systems: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, implement best practices, and optimize accounting systems. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 5+ years in accounting or finance, private/public mix or straight from public. Strong accounting background with a CPA preferred. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and managing an accounting team. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a highperforming team in a fastpaced, PEbacked environment. Comfortable contributing to both tactical and strategic finance initiatives.
