Lead Transaction Attorney

Allensworth, a busy and growing commercial construction law firm, seeks a full-time Lead Transaction Attorney in its downtown Austin office. The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role. Summary of Responsibilities The ideal candidate has four to seven years of experience handling complex construction and design contracts. Working closely with our transactions partners, the lead transaction attorney will strategically draft, negotiate, modify, and manage a large pipeline of commercial construction and design agreements. From industry-standard templates, including AIA, ConsensusDocs, EJCDC and DBIA form agreements, to customized manuscript agreements, the lead attorney should understand how specific terms have been interpreted by Texas courts, including insurance coverage, the Economic Loss Rule, indemnity and defense obligations, fee-shifting provisions, and other risk transfer provisions. The lead attorney should possess a high-motor work ethic and be comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail, academic credentials, research, writing, and communication/interpersonal skills are essential for this position. Excellent communication, writing and proofreading, time management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with a variety of constituencies including attorneys, clients, and professional staff. Exhibits a polished, professional, and friendly demeanor. Highly motivated, capable, and eager to become an indispensable part of the team. Requirements Minimum of four years of firm experience working on construction and design contracts, or related industry experience. J.D., licensed to practice law in Texas. AIA ACD5 software experience is a plus.
