Locum Tenens Opportunity: Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology Physician Near Bear Creek, WI We are seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician specializing in Hematology and Oncology for a locum tenens position near Bear Creek, WI. This role offers a chance to contribute to both outpatient and inpatient care with a combination of scheduled clinical hours and on-call responsibilities. The position is ideal for a board-certified physician who can start ASAP and is looking for a long-term opportunity. Position Overview: Specialty: Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call Practice Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient Key Responsibilities: Clinical Hours: Work Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Provide care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including outreach to a secondary location two days a week. The exact schedule will be determined based on availability and needs. Call Coverage: The role includes call coverage for two weeks per month, with call shared among others in the system. Call is handled one week at a time, ensuring manageable and predictable on-call duties. Clinical Requirements: Board certification in Internal Medicine with a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology is required. An active Wisconsin (WI) medical license is necessary. Certifications in ACLS and ATLS are required, while ABLS, BLS, and PALS are not. Experience with the Cerner EMR system is preferred. Procedures and Equipment: Perform bone marrow biopsies and administer intrathecal chemotherapy. Utilize equipment such as Intellidose TxM for treatment and management. Practice Details: The position involves solo practice with support from three Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in the department. Radiation oncology services are available on-site. Temporary privileges are available if needed, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of approximately 60 days, provided there are no issues with the credentialing file. Additional Information: Location: The position is based near Bear Creek, WI, with outreach responsibilities to Stevens Point, WI, two days a week. Local candidates are preferred, but accommodations can be discussed for those traveling from further away. Compensation: Competitive pay will be provided, with overtime opportunities as applicable.
