Job Title: Foreign Language Instructor (Spanish or French)
Job Type: Contract 3+ Months
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
Summary:
Upward Academy Foreign Language Instructor teaches onsite, face-to-face classes in facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of team members by helping them improve their Foreign Language skills. As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in empowering employees, enhancing their communication abilities, and contributing to their personal and professional growth. This class is a free benefit to employees, and we are seeking someone who is able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and who has experience teaching Foreign Languages.
Responsibilities:
Teach Foreign Language (e.g. Spanish, French, etc.) courses for team members at a facility.
Create and develop materials associated with the courses taught.
Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and trainings to stay updated and enhance teaching skills.
Participate in recruitment events and culminating activities to support the program and engage with the community.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of teaching strategies and methods: Including grammar, reading, writing, and listening/speaking.
Native-like fluency: Good command of written and spoken (include foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French, etc.) and English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Essential for managing course materials and communication.
Education and Experience:
~ Bachelor's degree: In foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French, etc.), Teaching, or a related field.
~3 years teaching experience: In adult education.

Special Skills:
Strong classroom management skills: Organizational and planning skills, ability to give clear, concise directions and explanations.
Proficiency in a second language: Enhances communication with students from diverse backgrounds.
Cross-cultural sensitivity: Essential for understanding and addressing the needs of students from various cultural backgrounds. xrczosw
Excellent technology application skills and experience: To integrate technology effectively into teaching.
