Job Summary: As the Manager of Construction and Snow Removal, you will provide leadership and operational oversight of all resort construction and snow removal activities. This dual-season role ensures efficient summer construction and infrastructure improvement projects and reliable, high-performance snow removal operations in the winter season. You will lead a year-round team of up to 12 employees, including equipment operators, foremen, and seasonal staff, while maintaining strong collaboration with other departments across Mountain Operations. The Manager will be accountable for capital project execution, cost control, equipment utilization, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring Palisades Tahoe maintains operational excellence and infrastructure readiness year-round. Applicants must be 21 years of age. Salaried: The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits. Plan and manage summer construction projects such as grading, drainage improvements, parking lot paving, and facility upgrades, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget. Direct all winter snow removal operations, including scheduling, route prioritization, and resource allocation for heavy equipment, loaders, plows, and other snow removal machinery. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of snow removal and construction staff. Develop and manage labor and equipment budgets; forecast seasonal resource needs and monitor expenditures. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards including CARB, OSHA, and local permitting agencies. Collaborate cross-departmentally to align construction schedules, snow removal priorities, and operational dependencies. Manage procurement of materials, fuel, and contracted services to support capital projects and winter operations. Maintain accurate project documentation, budgets, and reports for senior leadership review. Lead and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Participate in planning and budget meetings with Mountain Operations leadership and the VP of Base Operations. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Competencies and Job Requirements: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams. Proven experience managing construction projects and/or snow removal operations at a comparable scale. Ability to read, interpret, and manage plans, specifications, contracts, and regulatory documents. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, schedules, and capital project deliverables. Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to make data-driven operational decisions. Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and cross-departmental collaboration. Must be capable of frequent climbing, walking on uneven terrain, working on snow and ice, and operating heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions: Indoor/Outdoor: The employee will frequently work outdoors in variable mountain weather conditions and occasionally in indoor office or maintenance environments. Hazardous Materials/Noise: Employee will be in contact with fuels, lubricants, and construction materials. Exposure to noise, vibration, and moving equipment is frequent. Hearing and eye protection are required in certain work areas. Equipment Used in Job: Heavy construction equipment (loaders, graders, dozers, plows, etc.), snow removal machinery, hand tools, 4WD vehicles, two-way radios, and computers. Education and Experience: Required: Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, snow removal, or heavy equipment operations.
