Job Description UPMC Western Maryland' s amazing Food and Nutrition team is looking for a part-time Dietitian This is an exciting role that will work closely with our local population in a variety of settings including community events, home care, and clinic visits. The varied responsibilities and part time hours allow a lot of flexibility with scheduling.  We are looking for a compassionate Registered Dietitian with great communication skills. Experience in the field is preferred, but certainly not required
Our recruitment team will also work with you to determine the best title (UPMC Dietitian or UPMC Dietitian II) and pay based on your experience. The minimum hiring rate for a Dietitian is $24.55 , and the minimum hiring rate for a Dietitian II is $27.28.
Provide quality patient care to diverse patient populations using Medical Nutrition Therapy to include assessment, goals and plan of care.
Accountable as nutrition liaison/expert to assigned units &/or committees responding to needs and initiatives for nutrition care process improvement.
As required, knowledgeable about outpatient billing guidelines and performs necessary documentation to ensure compliance of client charges with regulatory requirements.
Formulate a Nutrition Diagnosis and identify Malnutrition through application of Nutrition Focused Physical Assessment and the nationally established criteria for identification of malnutrition.
As required, demonstrate professional writing skills adaptable to all health literacy levels in preparing materials, presentations and other communications.
Provide timely interventions as determined by Nutrition Risk level and the Plan of Care.
Participate in department based Quality Process Improvement activities with an ability to actively endorse evidence based practice.
Appropriate execution of order writing as governed by the Dietitian Delegation Order system protocol.
For individuals who obtained their Registered Dietitian (RD) certification prior to January 1, 2026, a bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required.
For individuals who obtained their Registered Dietitian (RD) certification on or after January 1, 2026, a master's degree in a Nutrition or Dietetics is required.
Strong nutrition education/counseling and mentoring skills. Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN)
