SGC Surveying is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled MAOP Technician to join our team. The MAOP Technician will play a vital role in ensuring pipeline safety and compliance by verifying Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) through accurate data collection, analysis, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a commitment to safety, detail oriented, and a keen eye for regulatory compliance. **Candidates must be local to the Hebron, KY area.** Responsibilities of the MAOP Technician: MAOP Verification and Compliance- Conduct field investigations and record reviews to verify MAOP in compliance with PHMSA regulations (49 CFR Parts 192 and 195).
- Analyze pipeline Material Test Reports, Certificates of Compliance, material specifications, operating pressures, and historical test data, along with weld reports to confirm applicable documentation and pipeline verification.
- Assist with hydrostatic testing review and pressure verification activities as required.
- Utilize GIS, CAD, and SGC specific database management tools to document pipeline specifications and operating conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for MAOP documentation.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in pipeline records and historical data.[i]
- Conduct on-site inspections to collect pipeline material data and ensure proper tagging and traceability.
- Collaborate with field crews, engineers, and contractors during pipeline construction, maintenance, or integrity management projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company standards for pipeline safety and pressure management.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and standards, including PHMSA and API guidelines.
- Work closely with program managers, engineers, and regulatory teams to support pipeline operations.
- Prepare and present reports detailing MAOP verification findings and recommendations.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in land survey, engineering, pipeline technology, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in pipeline operations, MAOP verification, or a related role.
- Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and other pipeline mapping tools.
- Strong understanding of PHMSA regulations, API standards, and pipeline safety practices.
- Familiarity with hydrostatic testing and pressure monitoring equipment.
- API 1169 (Pipeline Construction Inspector Certification).
- DOT Operator Qualification (OQ).
- NACE or equivalent certifications related to pipeline integrity.
