We are hiring a skilled Relay Testing Engineer to join our electrical engineering and power systems team. This role is essential in ensuring the protection, reliability, and stability of transmission, distribution, and generation networks through precise testing, validation, and maintenance of protection and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in relay testing, protection coordination, and troubleshooting complex protection‑related issues in real‑time field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive relay testing activities—including commissioning, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting—across substations, power plants, and large industrial facilities.
Configure, test, and validate numerical, digital, and electromechanical relays such as overcurrent, earth fault, differential, distance, feeder, and other protection schemes.
Conduct secondary and primary injection testing, logic checks, scheme testing, CT/PT verification, and end‑to‑end system validation using advanced relay testing equipment.
Analyze protection events, disturbances, and relay operation logs (SOE, oscillography, fault records) to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Support commissioning activities for new installations including transformers, switchgear, protection panels, and substation automation systems.
Collaborate with design, SCADA, operations, and field maintenance teams to ensure proper coordination and alignment with project specifications, grid standards, and safety protocols.
Troubleshoot protection‑related issues such as relay misoperations, wiring inconsistencies, communication failures, and CT/PT anomalies.
Maintain detailed documentation including relay settings, test procedures, reports, configuration files, and as‑built drawings for compliance and audits.
Ensure full adherence to safety practices, isolation procedures, and engineering standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, NERC, etc.).
Guide and support junior engineers and technicians in relay testing concepts, tools, and field execution.
Required Skills & Experience
~ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; specialization in Power Systems is preferred.
~3–8 years of hands‑on experience in relay testing, protection engineering, or power system commissioning.
~ Strong experience with numerical relays (ABB, Siemens, GE, SEL, Schneider, etc.) and relay configuration tools.
~ Proficiency with relay testing equipment such as Omicron (CMC, CPC series), Megger, or equivalent systems.
~ Solid understanding of essential protection schemes including transformer, feeder, line, motor, generator, busbar, and differential protection.
~ Experience with communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus) and SCADA/IED integration.
~ Ability to interpret protection SLDs, logic diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts.
~ Excellent analytical, diagnostic, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in utilities, EPC projects, transmission/distribution, renewable energy, or heavy industrial environments.
Exposure to FAT/SAT processes, substation automation, and protection panel testing/design.
