As a Warehouse Specialist Lead, you will be an integral part of our success and growth. In this role you are responsible for inventory control, order picking, steel kitting, receiving, shipping and more. Work includes managing daily tasks, reporting problems or concerns to the supervisor, using problem solving skills, monitoring employee training, assisting employees with issues regarding the department, troubleshooting, and flexing to various areas of the warehouse to minimize bottlenecks. A Team Lead should be able to perform and maintain all facets of warehouse operations, such as shipping and receiving to maintaining inventory. They are expected to be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and electric pallet jacks to move product. Team Leads are generally assigned a set of more complex tasks on a daily basis. They are expected to adapt more quickly to change and be readily available to switch from one task to the next as needed without it significantly impacting their productivity. Key Responsibilities
Perform and participate in all responsibilities for inventory control specialist, order picker, steel kitter, and receiving
Learn how to identify processes that are weak, missing or need adaptation
Master how to create plans that will achieve end goals with guidance from lead and supervisor
Learn how to persuade, teach, and guide team members through their thought process to find positive solutions
Work with supervisors and other team leads to manage daily workflow to ensure on time delivery and efficiency goals are met.
Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and personnel issues to the Supervisor.
Use problem solving skills to work closely with support staff such as engineering, production, and management to resolve issues.
Monitor employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
Manage and communicate workflow, monitor & Prioritize workload, department productivity, and promote a positive working environment.
Assist employees with questions regarding issues within the department.
Actively communicate with other team leads.
Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Supervisor.
Assist or participate in training measures as needed
Assist in other areas of manufacturing or perform other duties as assigned
Education | Experience High school education or equivalent (required)
Prior warehouse experience (required), industrial setting (preferred)
Ability to use strapping/banding equipment
ERP experience (preferred)
Some leadership experience (preferred)
Forklift driving experience required (certification process provided)
Abilities | Skills Good math, computer (Microsoft Office) and communication skills
High motivation level, ability to multi-task and work well independently as well as with others
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Lifting up to 50-85 pounds occasionally (with assistance)
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours per day
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to work overtime depending on workload
