Director, Tax

The Atlanta office is looking for a Tax Director to lead the financial affairs of highnetworth families, ensuring their tax, financial, personal, and business needs are met in a timely and accurate manner. Responsibilities Review and sign individual, gift, trust, partnership, and corporate multistate tax returns for completeness and accuracy, ensuring they are submitted to the taxing authority in a timely manner. Review and directly communicate quarterly and yearend tax projections and other planning strategies. Proactively lead the tax and other family office services for assigned families. Review and act on internal and external communications in a timely manner. Monitor unique cash needs with accounting and investment groups to ensure adequate funds are available to meet needs. Conduct an analytical review of quarterly financial reports to ensure they completely and accurately reflect all clients financial activities. Collaborate with other Pathstone departments to present deliverables at quarterly family meetings. Participate in quarterly family meetings, either virtually or in person. Train and mentor the family office team. Deliver comprehensive family office service models to clients utilizing advisory, tax, accounting, risk management, and wealth planning teams. Manage and lead large client relationships, including economics, without direction or oversight. Act as a subjectmatter expert or hold other tax management/leadership experience. Embrace and promote the firms innovation efforts. Participate in the business development process and cultivating new clients. Perform other family office duties as assigned in areas such as estate & financial planning, philanthropy, and entity selection/structuring. Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in accounting or related field; Master of Taxation desirable. Work Experience 10 years public accounting experience with a CPA firm serving highnetworth families or Family Office Services experience desirable, including extensive knowledge and experience reviewing and filing tax returns as a senior manager or executive. CPA License required. CFP desirable. Strong communication, project management, and prioritization skills. Pay Transparency Pathstones expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $180,000 $210,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected will be based on factors such as experience, education, specialty, and training. Eligible candidates may also receive a discretionary bonus award.
