Individuals applying for this position should be willing to: Make lasting connections with our customers Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses (you may have to handle pork) Fill and rotate cases and display (may be some heavy lifting-up to 50lbs) Help maintain a clean and sanitary store Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department Be a part of a dedicated team that enjoys their job, arrives promptly for shifts, and works as scheduled Jerry's may give preference to an individual who: Is friendly and outgoing and promotes customer service for the entire team Knows about meats, cheeses, salads and good food Attended Food Safety training Is motivated to grow their career and continue learning GROW with Jerry's G ain new lifelong skills in customer service Enjoy a R ewarding work environment with a diverse group of coworkers Experience O pportunities for career advancement Maintain a flexible W ork schedule Position functions and job responsibilities may vary by store location. FREQUENT: Physical lifting/carrying to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 500 to 1500 pounds walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting Equipment Operation: scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, and intercom pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, roaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee pot, cleaning utensils Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math Environmental: exposure to hot and cold temperatures, hot equipment and cooking oil OCCASIONAL: Physical: lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., crawling **FREQUENT: 15% of the work shift or at least ten repetitions per work shift. **OCCASIONAL: Approximately less than 15% of the work shift or fewer than 10 repetitions per work shift
