Job Title: NDT Level III RT/DR/UT/PT, Quality Engineering Specialist
Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris company, is seeking a NDT Level III RT/DR/UT/PT, Quality Engineering Specialist to join our team in Canoga Park, California.
Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance to AR-Los Angeles specifications and drawing requirements. Manage site NDT supply base by monitoring suppliers to ensure flow down of AR requirements to sub-tier suppliers, audit existing NDT suppliers and assess potential new NDT suppliers for their ability to meet site requirements.
Review process specifications, in-house technique sheets, etc. Provide training and testing to L I and L II.
Develop, review and approve NDT techniques with L II personnel.
Write, review and approve specifications pertinent to NDT.
Prepare NDT for customer and internal audits.
Participate in the direction of the NDT department.
Audit and surveillance of quality systems and processes.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. Requires NDT LVL III RT (Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), UT (Ultrasonic), or PT (Penetrant) certifications.
Needs to have direct experience with the testing of Aerospace Metallic products
Must have Level 3 ASNT Certification and/ or currently active NAS410 Level III certifications
Hands-on working experience in a manufacturing environment and a corresponding understanding of manufacturing processes is essential.
A demonstrated proficiency with a variety of NDT inspection techniques and equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation is required.
Knowledge of industry NDT standards (ex. Must possess strong computer skills and be well-organized.
Position requires responding to customer needs and may include weekend work.
