Job Title: Systems Administrator II Location: Petersburg, VA Duration: 06+ Months contract possible extension Job Role: Support and manage server operations while troubleshooting and resolving customer issues in Unix/Linux-based environments. Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring high uptime and optimal server functionality. Perform system installations, configurations, patch management, and upgrades for Unix/Linux servers. Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner. Maintain and improve system security through user access controls, firewall configurations, and vulnerability remediation. Manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and business continuity. Create and update system documentation, procedures, and technical knowledge resources. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure improvements. Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting tools such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Support monitoring tools and alerts, responding promptly to incidents and service requests. Assist in capacity planning, system optimization, and performance tuning activities. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and audit requirements.
