We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for an exciting locum tenens opportunity near Haynesville, Virginia. Position Overview: Specialty: Gastroenterology (Board Certification Required). Coverage: Weekend-only coverage (Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM). Responsibilities: Manage gastrointestinal (GI) emergencies. Ensure appropriate use of resources by focusing on emergent and urgent cases only. Routine scopes and colonoscopies are not performed during these shifts. Daily Patient Volume: Anticipated at 1 patient per day, focused on emergency cases. Shift Type: 24-hour on-call coverage during weekends. Duration: Ongoing weekend needs through at least March 2025. Start Date: January 2025 (with opportunities for earlier shifts upon approval). Qualifications: Must hold Board Certification in Gastroenterology. Proficient in handling GI emergencies and performing ERCP procedures independently. Technology: Facility utilizes electronic medical records (specific details provided upon assignment).
