Overview:

$16.64 / hour

 

The primary purpose of the Sewing Attendant is to build employee costumes for the park’s shows and attractions after being provided direction from either the costume builder or the Supervisor of Design. It is not uncommon for the Sewing Attendant to be working on one small part of a whole costume. The Sewing Attendant is not given as much artistic license as a Costume Builder. The Sewing Attendant performs assigned tasks on an as needed basis. Sewing Attendants may also work the front service counter and fill orders or take measurements and build uniforms for employees that are out of proportion. 


Responsibilities:
  • Physically able to be on feet for entire eight-hour shift.
  • Operating industrial sewing machines, overlock, roll edge hemmer, commercial steam iron, commercial laundry equipment and hand sewing.
  • Knowledge of construction of basic garments and show costuming.
  • Pattern drafting and fabric cutting.
  • Ability to be cart licensed is a plus.
  • Ability to work as a dresser in entertainment venues as needed.

Qualifications:
  • To provide assistance in the construction of all costuming in the department, i.e., stock, special builds, show costuming, character costuming.
  • To take measurements, pattern, cut, stitch, fit and alter all costuming as required by the designer/supervisor.
  • To maintain a safe workplace throughout the department.
  • Perform the duties of a dresser as needed for major entertainment venues.
  • Interact personably with other employees and entertainment talent.
