  • Enjoy meaningful work in Highlands, North Carolina at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson, and the surrounding counties. Located on Highway 64 between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has 24 beds for acute care services and 80 beds in the Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care practices serving both Highlands and Cashiers.
  • Job Requirements
  • Experience in hospital and/or nursing home setting is required.
  • Prefer clinician with at least 3 years of experience in a medical setting.
  • Schedule Information
  • 40 hours per week, schedule needs to be reviewed during interview with rehab manager.
  • Unit Specific Information
  • Scrub Color(s): any
  • Number of Beds: 24 acute/swing beds, 40 nursing home beds, 10 skilled beds within the nursing home
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Unit staffing description: Rehab department (PT/OT/SLP)
  • Type of equipment: typical equipment for rehab services. Treatment provided in patients' room, hallway, outdoor areas, and in rehab gym
  • Documentation system: Cerner and NetHealth
  • Scheduling requirements: 40 hours per week, needs to be reviewed during the interview with rehab manager
  • Floating policy: clinicians will be asked to float between acute/swing, nursing home, and out-patient services as indicated.
  • Patient Experience requirements: Prefer clinician with at least 3 years of experience in a medical setting.

  • Our hospital is stroke certified, and the majority of our beds are swing bed patients.
  • We are a rehab focused hospital.
  • Our nursing home facility is a 5-star rated facility.
  • Additionally, we have 2 out-patient clinics for a continuum of care.
  • New rehab gym will break ground this summer, and we are currently designing an outdoor gym.
  • Our current rehab gym has all equipment needed, but we are ready to expand.
  • The nursing home has a gym as well.
  • Clinicians have full access to both gyms.
