As a Software Engineer II at Tanium, you will embark on an exciting new project focusing on building a robust data transport system and API standardization process. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure our services achieve top-tier performance, security, and scalability. This is a hybrid position, which will require attendance several days each week in Durham, NC.What you'll doBuild and maintain Tanium's products alongside an agile development teamDesign, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and inputWork on small teams that tackle big challenges in common components like a common data service tasked with unifying and consolidating endpoint data across the entire ecosystem, handling time series data that drive dash boarding and reporting, and exposing data externally through GraphQL enabling partners (like Salesforce) to easily integrateDelivering higher level services enabled by our core services that directly enable our products and focus on everything from security to operations to auditingEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceCS Degree preferredExperienceEligible to obtain the FedRAMP security clearance 3+ years industry experienceExpertise building GraphQL APIsExpertise in Gateway technologies (e.g., Azure Application Gateway, AWS API Gateway, Istio Gateway) to optimize network traffic and streamline communication between servicesExperience building services on top of KubernetesProficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm Charts, CloudFormation)Experience designing and building high-impact, high-performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIsKnowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or JavaExperience with HTTP API design and developmentExperience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and JenkinsOtherDemonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long-term code maintainability and supportabilityBelieves in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of developmentExperienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environmentsHas knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new toolsAbout Tanium Tanium delivers the industry's only true real-time cloud-based endpoint management and security offering. What you’ll get The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $200,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire.
