This is a Full-Time position working Mon – Thurs, in the Red Rock Health Clinic in Pella with rotations in the Knoxville Clinic

The RRHC Certified Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of a physician. The Certified Medical Assistant supports the physician and other providers in delivering high-quality health care and scheduling needs to Clinic patients.

Essential Functions

Obtains current and accurate demographic and insurance information
Makes patient appointments appropriately according to templates and insurance.
Validates the status of insurance.
Makes appropriate referrals to assist the uninsured population.
Performs telephone duties as required and routes calls to appropriate staff. Routes messages appropriately per protocol.
Room patients, identify and documents chief complaint, allergies and medications.
Measure and record vital signs, weight and measurement.
Provide immunizations, injections and medications under the supervision of the provider.
Perform preventative health screenings and nursing treatments.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
Assure patients are seen in and orderly and fair manner.
Explain delays and waiting times.
Ensure that acutely ill or injured patients are triaged and seen first.
Notifies patient of lab/imaging results.
Complete room outdate checks and restock exam rooms.
All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited organization.
Previous clinic experience preferred.
Current BLS and Mandatory Reporter Certification
